
Rental Terms & Conditions
Our rug rental program is designed to offer you a flexible and convenient way to enjoy the beauty of authentic Moroccan Berber rugs in your space. Please read through the following rental terms and conditions carefully. By renting a rug from us, you agree to comply with these terms.
1. General Information
Ownership: The rug remains the exclusive property of La Maison Tamurt at all times.
Permitted Use: Our rugs are for indoor use only. The rug must be kept in a clean, smoke-free, pet-free, and climate-controlled environment. Alterations, dyes, adhesives, or modifications to the rug are strictly prohibited.
2. Rental Agreement
By completing your booking, you enter into a rental agreement that includes the following:
Rental Fees: The rental fee is 3.75% of the retail value of the rug per day.
Late Return Fee: A 3.75% fee of the rug’s retail value will apply for each additional day the rug is kept beyond the agreed return date.
Extension Fee: If you wish to extend the rental period, you must inform us at least 2 days before the original rental period ends. Failure to notify us will result in an increase in the daily rental rate to 4% of the rug’s retail value for the extended period.
Security Deposit: A refundable security deposit equal to the full retail value of the rug will be required. This will be held via our booking platform, Booqable, and will be refunded once the rug is returned in its original condition (except for normal wear), subject to inspection — As an artisan piece, the rug cannot be repaired without affecting its uniqueness. In cases of loss, theft, or irreparable damage, the deposit is intended to cover the full retail value.
Note: If the rug has been damaged beyond normal wear, the deposit will be used to cover the replacement cost of the rug.
3. Rental Duration & Extension
Rental Period: The rental period will be determined at the time of booking. It is based on the duration you choose for your rental.
Extensions: You can extend your rental by notifying us at least 2 days before the original rental period ends. If no prior notice is given, the daily rental fee will increase to 4% of the retail value per day during the extended period.
4. Pricing & Payment
Daily Rental Fee: 3.75% of the rug’s retail value.
Late Return Fee: 3.75% of the retail value for each additional day.
Security Deposit: A refundable security deposit equal to the full retail value of the rug will be required.
Payment Process: All rental fees and the security deposit must be paid in full before pickup. Payments will be processed through our secure booking system, Booqable.
5. Care & Maintenance
Normal Wear: Normal wear includes:
Slight compression from furniture legs
Light foot traffic
Minor texture changes from temporary placement
Any damage beyond normal wear, such as staining, tearing, water damage, or other visible damage that affects the rug’s functionality or aesthetic, will result in the forfeiture of your security deposit.
Cleaning: Rugs should be kept clean. Do not attempt any cleaning without consulting us. Professional cleaning may be required if the rug sustains stains or marks.
6. Pickup & Return
Pickup: Upon confirmation of your booking, you may either pick up the rug at our Killarney-area showroom or arrange for delivery to your location (delivery fees may apply).
Return: The rug must be returned on or before the agreed-upon return date. The rug will be inspected upon return.
If the rug is returned in its original condition, the security deposit will be refunded. If any damage is detected (beyond normal wear), the deposit will not be released fully if the rug has sustained damage beyond normal wear, as this compromises the rug’s integrity and value.
7. Cancellation Policy
Cancel at least 2 days prior to pickup: Full refund.
Cancel 1 day before pickup: 50% refund.
Cancel on the pickup day or later: No refund.
8. Loss, Theft, or Damage beyond normal wear
If the rug is lost, stolen, or sustains damage beyond normal wear while in your possession, you will be responsible for paying the full retail value of the rug (deposit will not be fully refunded).
9. Security Deposit
The security deposit will be held via Booqable and is refundable once the rug is returned and inspected. If the rug is lost, stolen, or has damage beyond normal wear, the deposit will not be refunded fully.
10. Liability
La Maison Tamurt is not responsible for any injuries or damages caused by the use, placement, or handling of the rug. The renter assumes full responsibility for any issues related to the rug during the rental period.
11. Modifications to Terms
La Maison Tamurt reserves the right to modify or update these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated through email and will be applicable to future rentals.
12. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute, the terms of this agreement will be governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia. Any disputes will be resolved through mediation or arbitration, as agreed upon by both parties.
